Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is on a roll. Barely a month since launching the all-new Wigo, the mobility company has again taken the wraps off another vehicle. This time, it’s the all-new Toyota Yaris Cross, which is set to energize TMP’s electrified vehicle lineup and intensify the brand’s drive for carbon neutral mobility.

The Yaris Cross is available in three variants. One is an HEV while the other two are gasoline-powered:

  • 1.5 G CVT: P1,199,000 (Scarlet SE, Greenish Gun Metal, Attitude Black Mica)
  • 1.5 V CVT: P1,296,000 (White Pearl, Dark Turquoise SE, Greenish Gun Metal); P1,306,000 (two-tone Scarlet SE/Attitude Black Mica)
  • 1.5 S HEV CVT: P1,598,000 (White Pearl, Scarlet SE, and Dark Turquoise SE, all with a two-tone finish in Attitude Black Mica)

The front grille of the Yaris Cross features a trapezoid design, while its rear displays a compact back door and geometric rear lights. The HEV variant also has a panoramic moonroof to further accentuate the premium styling.

Both HEV and gas variants sport LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, fog lamps, and a rear combination lamp design.

As mentioned, there are two engine options available for the Yaris Cross. One is the 1.5-liter engine that produces 106hp and 138Nm, while the hybrid powertrain option uses the same 1.5-liter engine (90hp) with an Atkinson Cycle that’s mated to an electric motor (79hp).

Inside, the Yaris Cross gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging dock, and panoramic view monitor (save for the G variant, which comes with a back camera). All variants are equipped with six speakers, but the HEV variant gets a Pioneer system according to the brochure.

The S HEV and V CVT variants are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), which includes pre-collision system, automatic high beam, lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, and adaptive cruise control.

The G CVT variant has active safety features such as ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, and hill-start assist control.

All variants come with six airbags and clearance and back sonars.
