Globe generated more than PHP 510 million in energy savings in 2025 through investments in energy-efficient network infrastructure and artificial intelligence technologies, while expanding initiatives that support more sustainable and liveable cities.
The company shared these results during the Liveable Cities Lab at the Asian Institute of Management, where government officials, local government representatives, businesses, and sustainability advocates discussed strategies to accelerate the shift toward cleaner and more resource-efficient communities.
“By adopting Green Network and AI-driven energy efficiency technologies, Globe is proving that resource efficiency and environmental sustainability go hand in hand. Our commitment to sustainability-related innovations isn’t just about upgrading networks; it’s about empowering cities and enterprises to build cleaner and more liveable cities,” said Raymond Aguilar, Globe Vice President for Risk and Property Management.
A major contributor to the savings was Globe’s Green Network program, under which the company deployed 20,800 energy-efficient technologies across its operations in 2025. Globe said the upgrades reduced energy consumption across its network and facilities.
The company also uses AI to automatically adjust power consumption at cell sites based on network demand and optimize cooling systems in its buildings. Additional energy-saving measures include storage optimization within its Network Function Virtualization environment, allowing unused servers to power down automatically, as well as the replacement of legacy lead-acid batteries with more efficient lithium-ion and sodium-nickel alternatives.
Globe said these technologies can help cities and municipalities improve resource efficiency while supporting sustainability targets and aligning with the objectives of the New Government Procurement Act, or Republic Act 12009, as local governments adopt more environmentally responsible infrastructure and operations.
