Toyota Motor Philippines‘ (TMP) bestselling entry hatchback is here in its new and improved form, featuring a bolder exterior and more spacious interior.

According to TMP, they have sold more than 149,000 Toyota Wigo units since the model was first introduced in the country in 2014.

The all-new Wigo is powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine—same as before—producing 66hp and 89Nm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels by either a five-speed manual gearbox or a new continuously variable transmission.

Here are four things you should know about the all-new Wigo

1. It’s bigger, wider, sportier

The All-New Wigo’s exterior is now sportier with its trapezoidal-shaped grille flanked by split-type LED headlights.

It’s also bigger and wider than the previous generation—now measuring 3760mm long, 1655mm wide, and 1515mm tall. This allows for increased interior and cargo space.

On the side, the all-new Wigo gets visibly larger windows, while the rear end features reshaped taillights. All variants get 14-inch alloys.

2. It’s more spacious. Plus, it comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto!

The hatch is easy and fun to drive thanks to functions such as electronic power steering, keyless entry for the G and E variants, and push start ignition system for the G variant.

The G and E variants also get an 8-inch display audio, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.

3. It gives you peace of mind

In terms of safety, all variants get dual SRS airbags, an antilock brake system with EBD, vehicle stability control, and hill-start assist control. The top-spec G variant also has a dashcam, parking sensors, and a rear camera.

4. It’s available in three variants and six colors

The all-new Wigo comes in six colors: Red Mica Metallic 2, Orange Metallic 3, Yellow SE, Silver Metallic 4, Gray Metallic, and White 2 colors.

Here are the SRPs:

  • J MT: P609,000
  • E CVT: P684,000
  • G CVT: P729,000
