The first trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to Joker (2019)—featuring Oscar-winning actors Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga—has been unveiled at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
In this sequel, Joaquin Phoenix reprises his role as Arthur Fleck, the aspiring stand-up comedian who transforms into the notorious villain. Lady Gaga portrays Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a psychiatrist tasked with treating Fleck at Arkham Asylum.
“Folie à Deux” is a term that means “shared psychosis” or “shared delusional disorder.”
Todd Phillips returns to direct and co-write the script for the sequel, which is described as a drama with musical elements.
The cast also includes Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey, along with Zazie Beetz returning from the first film.
Joker: Folie à Deux opens Philippine cinemas on October 2.
