Eleven VinFast MPV 7 electric vehicles will serve as the official transport fleet for ASEAN Dialogue Partner delegates participating in the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM44) and its Associated Meetings from October 5 to 8, 2026 in Manila.

The four-day event brings together energy ministers, senior government officials, and representatives of international organizations to discuss Southeast Asia’s energy priorities. These include improving energy security, expanding renewable energy, boosting energy efficiency, and strengthening regional energy connectivity.

The deployment also puts the spotlight on electric vehicles as an option for official transport, particularly as countries across the region explore ways to support the transition to cleaner energy.

What to know about the VF MPV 7

Launched in the Philippines in May 2026, the VF MPV 7 is a seven-seater electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) designed with families in mind. Its three-row cabin is intended to accommodate larger households, while its cargo capacity offers room for luggage, groceries, and other everyday essentials.

According to VinFast, the VF MPV 7 can accommodate up to 1,240 liters of cargo and is equipped with a 60.13kWh battery that delivers a claimed driving range of up to 450 kilometers on a full charge under the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) testing standard.

The electric MPV is powered by a 150kW motor producing 280Nm of torque. These specifications position it for a range of uses, from daily commutes and family errands to longer road trips, depending on driving conditions and charging access.

As an all-electric vehicle, the VF MPV 7 produces no tailpipe emissions while driving. Actual driving range, however, can vary depending on factors such as speed, road conditions, passenger and cargo load, and air-conditioning use.

VinFast highlights EVs’ role in the energy transition

In addition to providing transportation for AMEM44 delegates, VinFast is using its participation to highlight the role of electric mobility in the region’s broader energy transition.

The company also plans to participate in discussions surrounding the ASEAN Energy Business Forum, which brings together stakeholders to explore energy-related investments, technologies, and infrastructure needed to support a more sustainable and resilient energy system.

VinFast’s participation also highlights its commitment to working with partners across ASEAN to drive innovation and build a cleaner, smarter future for mobility.

As it expands across Southeast Asia, VinFast is focused on making electric mobility more accessible and practical for everyday life. Its ecosystem spans electric vehicles, charging solutions, ownership, and aftersales support, helping meet the evolving needs of drivers and communities across the region.
