Pioneer Electronics has expanded its A Series car multimedia lineup with two new in-dash systems designed to bring larger displays, wireless smartphone connectivity, and more advanced audio tuning to aftermarket vehicle setups.
The new DMH-AP6850BT and DMH-AP8850BT feature Pioneer’s “Perfect Form Shaped” design, allowing their large WSVGA capacitive touchscreens to fit aftermarket dash panels while maintaining a more factory-like appearance. The AP6850BT gets a 9-inch display, while the flagship AP8850BT steps up to 10 inches.
Both models support wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with built-in Bluetooth and 5GHz Wi-Fi. The AP8850BT additionally supports wireless WebLink Cast, while both systems offer access to smartphone content through WebLink.
Both units are equipped with a 64-bit AKM AK7604 digital signal processor, 13-band graphic EQ, three-way network crossover, time alignment, and Pioneer Advanced Sound Tuning. They also feature a 50W x 4 MOSFET amplifier and three 4V RCA pre-outs for expanding an aftermarket audio system.
For added convenience and safety, both systems support rear-view cameras with parking guidelines and 360-degree panoramic camera setups with an optional adapter. Selected CAN Bus systems can also bring vehicle information such as climate controls, fuel monitoring, service alerts, and gauges onto the display.
