VinFast is signaling that its ambitions in the Philippines go well beyond selling electric vehicles. At its recent Media & KOL Thanksgiving Event, the Vietnamese automaker outlined a long-term strategy focused on building a sustainable electric mobility ecosystem—one designed to grow alongside the country’s rapidly evolving EV market.
The company’s approach reflects its roots as an ASEAN-born brand under Vingroup, which has spent more than three decades building businesses across mobility, technology, and essential services. VinFast has consistently pointed to Southeast Asia as a region capable of leading the next phase of electric mobility, with the Philippines seen as a key proving ground—not just as a consumer market, but as a hub for long-term innovation and growth.
Instead of pursuing short-term gains, VinFast says it is focusing on the fundamentals of EV adoption, including charging infrastructure, dependable aftersales support, customer education, and ownership policies that ease concerns about cost and everyday use—factors that still discourage many first-time EV buyers in the Philippines.
That long-term positioning was reinforced during the event, themed “The Road We Share.” Bringing together company executives, media, key opinion leaders, and members of the local creative community, the gathering highlighted VinFast’s emphasis on partnership, credibility, and trust. Cultural performances and collaborative art installations underscored the shared progress between Vietnam and the Philippines, framing VinFast’s local presence as a relationship built over time, not a short-term market entry.
As competition in the Philippine EV space heats up, VinFast remains Vingroup’s flagship presence in the country. Beyond vehicles, it serves as the group’s main platform for engaging Filipino consumers and institutions around electric mobility. The company also continues to study opportunities for broader ecosystem participation.
More than just selling electric vehicles, VinFast is positioning itself around the full ownership experience. By offering clear aftersales policies, competitive long-term costs, charging partnerships, and programs such as its Resale Value Guarantee, the company seeks to address common concerns around maintenance, resale, and charging availability.
By aligning its products, services, infrastructure, and partnerships under a single strategy, VinFast is positioning itself in the Philippines not just as an EV brand, but as a long-term mobility partner.
