This Father’s Day, Max’s Corner Bakery (MCB) is shining a light on Filipino fathers whose quiet devotion and steadfast presence have become the foundation of countless family memories, with a lineup of cakes inspired by the flavors they know and love.
Moving away from fleeting food trends and novelty desserts, MCB has focused on heritage favorites crafted with its signature “not-too-sweet” profile, creating cakes designed to appeal even to dads who usually skip dessert.
The campaign was inspired by a familiar insight about Filipino fathers.
“Many dads express love quietly, not through words, but through showing up, providing, and bringing the family together,” said Jane Mendoza, Brand Marketing Specialist at Max’s Corner Bakery. “That insight shaped this campaign. It reminded us that Father’s Day is really about celebrating that steady presence and giving families a reason to gather around him.”
The overwhelming demand from dads for the Ube Creme Brulee Cake made it evident that this was a product worth celebrating.
“Even internally, one of the biggest surprises was how much dads themselves loved it,” Joshua Decena, Sr. Business Development Manager, shared. “One of our owners even shared it with around 20 to 30 friends at his polo club, and people started calling him asking where they could order it. That’s when we felt we had something that could genuinely become part of a Father’s Day celebration.”
Understanding that many fathers prefer balanced flavors over overly sweet desserts, MCB developed its offerings around a refined taste profile.
“MCB’s product line is anchored on a ‘not-too-sweet’ flavor profile, a characteristic that shines brightest in our cake category,” explained Vince Catubig, Product Marketing Officer. “We believe our Father’s Day cakes are perfectly positioned to appeal to ‘non-dessert people’—including Dads—who appreciate a refined, balanced dessert.”
Catubig also explained the appeal of the Ube Creme Brulee Cake: “Real ube isn’t actually that sweet, it’s very mild and earthy,” he shared. “So when you match that with the bitter taste of the torched sugar on top, it cuts down the sweetness. It doesn’t take over the cake at all, it just helps you taste the real ube flavor.”
For dads who claim they are “not into sweets,” MCB offers the Triple Treat Cake. Featuring layers of chocolate, mocha, and vanilla, the dessert delivers a balanced flavor profile that is rich without being overwhelming.

“It’s the cake designed for the dad who doesn’t want anything sweet, but ended up liking it anyway,” Catubig noted.
To bridge tradition with the modern landscape, the brand is introducing customizable message cakes alongside digital-forward campaigns. This includes collaborating with Gen Z creators on TikTok to share these heartfelt family moments authentically with a younger audience.

The signature Ube Creme Brulee Cake is priced at P525 for the 5-inch size and P950 for the 8-inch size; exclusively available for in-store purchase at the Max’s Restaurant nearest you.
