Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), in partnership with B.LEAGUE, is bringing the excitement of Japanese basketball closer to Filipino fans through the B.LEAGUE Finals Week Manila, set from May 21 to 24 at the SM Megamall Mega Fashion Hall.
The event celebrates top-tier Japanese basketball while also commemorating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines.
As part of the collaboration, TMP will highlight its continued commitment to grassroots sports development through the B. Hope Asia Jr. Clinic on May 23.
The clinic aims to provide young Filipino athletes with access to world-class basketball instruction and meaningful learning opportunities. Designed for children of varying skill levels, the program will feature professional B.LEAGUE players as coaches, offering participants both training and mentorship in an engaging environment.
Filipino basketball star Kiefer Ravena of the Yokohama B-Corsairs will join the clinic as a guest coach. This gives aspiring athletes a chance to learn directly from one of the country’s most recognizable basketball figures.
Toyota has long supported Filipino athletes and local sports. Through its Start Your Impossible campaign, Toyota backed Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo’s advocacy for children’s growth via a gymnastics clinic. It also supported Para swimmer Ernie Gawilan’s push for cleaner water through coastal cleanups and mangrove planting activities nationwide.
“The B. Hope Asia Jr Clinic is not the first time Toyota has supported Philippine basketball as TMP also supported Gilas Pilipinas as their official mobility partner for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Our support for the upcoming B.Hope Asia Jr. Clinic is another testament of our standing commitment in supporting our grassroots athletes and the development of Philippine sports,” Elijah Marcial, first vice president for vehicle sales operations of TMP, said.
Guests can also explore Toyota’s latest vehicle lineup at the event booth and participate in interactive games for a chance to win exclusive prizes.
