Suzuki Philippines made a strong showing at the Makina Moto Expo 2026, held from April 10 to 12 at the SMX Convention Center, where it introduced a bold new direction for Filipino riders through its theme, “Suzuki Supercharged: Power in Motion.”
The showcase highlighted motorcycles designed not only for urban roads but also for real outdoor conditions, signaling the brand’s push toward more versatile, adventure-ready mobility.
At the Suzuki Hub, the brand displayed its latest lineup and unveiled their newest models: the “Real Man Series,” featuring the DR160 and V-STROM 160. Inspired by Suzuki’s larger displacement bikes, both models bring “big bike DNA” into a more practical range for everyday riders.
The V-STROM 160, designed for long-distance comfort and daily commuting, is powered by a 162cc engine producing 10.5kW at 8,000rpm and 14.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. It comes equipped with dual-channel ABS, front and rear disc brakes, LED lighting, a full-color LCD panel, and a USB port.

With a fuel efficiency rating of 50km/L based on WMTC standards and a range of up to 650km on a full tank, the model is positioned as a reliable companion for extended journeys. It is priced at P146,000 and available in Solid Cool Yellow and Pearl Black.
Meanwhile, the DR160 targets riders seeking versatility across mixed terrains. Rooted in the DR-Z series heritage, it features a 162cc engine delivering 11kW at 8,000 rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. It includes single-channel ABS (front), dual LED lighting, and fuel-injected efficiency rated at 48.8 km/L.

With a rugged build, high ground clearance, and a comfortable riding position, the DR160 is suited for both on- and off-road use. It is priced at P129,000 and comes in Solid White and Solid Pure Black.
Both models are backed by a three-year warranty.
The launch event, hosted by Rovilson Fernandez, also addressed current mobility challenges, including rising fuel costs. Makina founder Zach Lucero emphasized the growing role of motorcycles in both commuting and lifestyle, while Suzuki Philippines President Koichiro Hirao noted a shift in consumer demand toward motorcycles that support both daily use and outdoor exploration.

Aside from the launch, Suzuki also engaged attendees through themed segments. The “Rough and Ready” program featured moto vloggers and riding personalities sharing firsthand experiences with the new models, while the final day’s “Curb and Culture” highlighted motorcycling as a form of lifestyle and community expression through meet-and-greet sessions and interactive activities.

The Suzuki Hub itself showcased a wide range of models, including the V-STROM 1050DE, DR-Z series, Raider lineup, Burgman Street EX, and GIXXER SF155, among others. Attendees were also given the opportunity to test ride the Real Man Series, allowing them to experience the motorcycles’ performance and versatility in real conditions.
