Epson Philippines brought together media partners for the 16th edition of Fusion, its much-anticipated annual media thanksgiving, held from May 28 to 30 at Misibis Bay Resort in Albay. This year, the event centered on forging meaningful partnerships to drive responsible innovation, sustainability, and community impact.

Masako Kusama, Epson Philippines Corporation President and Director, opened the event by underscoring the theme EcoSynergy.

“EcoSynergy reflects the idea that real progress happens when innovation moves in step with shared purpose,” she said. “It’s how Epson brings people, technology, and sustainability together.”

Kusama emphasized how Epson’s philosophy, Engineered for Good, serves as a compass for every aspect of the company’s operations—from eco-conscious design to smart material choices and energy efficiency.

Wins and milestones

Noelle Gonzalez, Marketing Division Head, highlighted Epson’s continued dominance in eight key product categories and its consistent double-digit growth. She also shared updates on Epson’s battle against counterfeit ink and the rollout of new value-added services to improve customer experience.

Meanwhile, Russer Cabrera, Senior Manager for Product Marketing, introduced Epson’s innovative offerings aimed at helping businesses operate smarter and greener. These include regional holograms to combat counterfeit ink, expanded CoverPlus warranty options, and nehanced solutions for education and self-ordering systems. Large-format printing solutions for textiles and signage were also featured, underscoring Epson’s leadership in these markets.

The event also introduced new additions to the team: Julia Avila, OIC for Product Marketing focusing on corporate products, and Ash Elshawbaki, Senior Manager for Corporate & Government and Channel Sales Departments.

Advancing the sustainability roadmap

Sustainability took the spotlight at Fusion 16. EJ Sulit, Epson’s Sustainability Champion, outlined the company’s environmental roadmap, focusing on the company’s goal of becoming carbon-negative by 2050.

He also highlighted the transition to 100% renewable energy across all Epson facilities worldwide—including its largest manufacturing facility in the world located in Batangas.

He also underscored Epson’s commitment to social responsibility through initiatives such as the ICLEAN Project in Monreal, Ticao Island in partnership with WWF-Philippines. The project conducted waste management and sponsored a new plastic shredder that helped increase the production of eco-bricks made of collected plastics.

“These eco-bricks each contain about 500 grams of plastic that might otherwise pollute marine environments,” Sulit explained. “The municipality now produces over 300 bricks monthly, showing how localized innovation can drive real change.”

Strengthening bonds through shared experiences

As the event drew to a close, Ed Bonoan, Sales Division Head, expressed his gratitude to media partners for their support over the years.

“We’re grateful for your continued partnership in sharing our stories,” he said.

Beyond the sessions, Fusion 16 was a vibrant celebration of camaraderie—with team challenges and friendly competitions that tested creativity, communication, and collaboration. The shared experiences over three days created lasting bonds and underscored a powerful message: real progress happens when people work together—shaping a more responsible, innovative future for all.
