SM Supermalls is on the hunt for the country’s top speller in the Philippines.
SM Super Spelling Bee, the biggest-ever spelling competition in the country, aims to reignite a love for spelling and boost literacy among young Filipinos. Free registration is now open until October 11 for children aged 9 to 11 currently in Grades 4 to 6.
The competition kicks off with preliminary rounds happening on September 27th, October 4th, and October 11th across 40 SM Supermalls nationwide.
Parents and guardians of interested kids can pre-register through the SM Malls Online app by filling out the SM Super Spelling Bee application form. Alternatively, they can go to the Mall Administration Office of their chosen participating SM Supermalls branch and pre-register in person.
Teachers and educators may also register their students given that the forms are duly signed by the student’s parent or guardian before submission.
To complete registration requirements, make sure to present an original copy and photocopy of the participating child’s valid school ID, either during the elimination proper for online applications, or during the in-person submission at the Mall Administration Office.
Walk-in registrations will also be accepted on the days of the elimination round but take note that the cut-off for these on-the-spot registrations closes at 12 noon.
The top contestants will advance to the Grand Finals at SM Mall of Asia, where they can win exciting prizes. Elimination round winners will bag over P20,000 in prizes from SM Supermalls, Jollibee, and National Book Store.
Meanwhile, the Grand Winner will take home the following:
- Up to P50,000 in cash and SM Gift Certificates
- P150,000 in National Book Store Gift Certificates
- P10,000 in Jollibee Gift Certificates
- Laptop from Power Mac Center
- Discounts on school tuition from the National University (NU)
