The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is the bestselling vehicle in the automaker’s lineup, and now, the fifth-generation of the nameplate has arrived in the Philippines.
Dubbed the “Baby S” because it resembles its bigger S-Class sibling—from the exterior design characteristics, headlamp and taillamp design, all the way to the flowing, seamless, and extensively digitized interior—the new C-Class is truly a symbol of modern luxury.
Available locally in the Avantgarde exterior package, the C-Class comes with LED high-performance headlights with daytime running lights, a polished aluminum belt trim, 18-inch multi-spoke light-alloy wheels and runflat tires, two-section full LED taillights.
Inside the luxurious cabin is a “floating” 11.9-inch central infotainment touchscreen and a customizable 10.25-inch full-digital instrument cluster.
The C-Class is equipped with the latest generation NTG7 MBUX multimedia system with a voice assistant that can be summoned with the phrase “Hey Mercedes.” You can also easily connect your mobile device wirelessly via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The new C-Class comes with seven airbags, Blind Spot assist, and other driver assistance systems such as Active Brake Assist, Active Parking Assist, 12 ultrasonic sensors in the front and rear, reversing camera, and Attention Assist.
The C180 Avantgarde is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged mild-hybrid (thanks to the automaker’s EQ boost technology) that’s good for 170hp and 250Nm. The Integrated Starter Generator and 48-volt power supply supports the combustion engine by providing up to 20hp of additional power and up to 200Nm more torque.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels by the 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class C180 Avantgarde trim has an introductory price of P3,890,000 and is now available for viewing in all Mercedes-Benz showrooms at Bonifacio Global City, Edsa Greenhills, Alabang, and Cebu City.
