Whether it’s Christmas gifts or daily shop restocks, Filipinos can breathe easier this season. Starting November 7, every Lalamove delivery is automatically protected through Goods Insurance, a built-in insurance coverage powered by Pioneer Insurance that provides up to P20,000 coverage for loss, damage, or robbery.
The timing couldn’t be better. From care packages headed to family reunions to bulk restocks for small neighborhood stores, more Filipinos are depending on couriers to move items safely during the season’s busiest months. For entrepreneurs, where each successful drop-off can make or break a day’s sales, the added protection means one less worry and more room to focus on growth.
The coverage requires no extra steps from users. Every booking through the Lalamove app is protected, with claims covering accidental damage, transit loss, and robbery or pilferage reported within 72 hours of pick-up. It’s a layer of assurance in an industry often defined solely by speed and convenience.
Lalamove says Goods Insurance complements its broader safety efforts, which include facial-recognition log-ins for partner drivers and PadaLala 101—an education campaign promoting responsible booking habits such as “Double Check the Details” and “No Match, No Give.” The company notes that combining prevention, technology, and protection helps build a shared culture of diligence between customers and drivers.
Backed by Pioneer Insurance and finance, risk and resilience advisor KRM Re, Lalamove expects the program to evolve as the companies streamline claims and enhance customer support. The coverage is now active nationwide.
