SM Mall of Asia once again set the scene for one of the country’s biggest New Year celebration as it hosted the GMA Kapuso Countdown to 2026. The event, which drew over 250,000 Filipinos and tourists to its seaside complex, offered a fully maxed-out welcome to the new year, featuring an all-out live concert and a grand fireworks spectacle.
Crowds filled Seaside Boulevard and key activity areas across the MOA grounds as the live performances began at 10pm. Attendees traveled from various parts of the Philippines and overseas to take part in the celebration, with some lining up early in the day to secure viewing spots. The program was hosted by Betong Sumaya, Christian Bautista, Tim Yap, and Emma Tiglao, who kept the energy high throughout the evening.
A lineup of Kapuso artists took the stage in back-to-back performances leading up to midnight. Among those who performed were Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, Will Ashley, Vince Maristela, Faith da Silva, Angel Guardian, Charlie Fleming, AZ Martinez, and international singer Bonnie Bailey.
The night’s biggest highlight was the performance by K-pop group AHOF. Formed through the SBS survival program Universe League and debuting in 2025, the group has gained international recognition for their performance-driven music. With Filipino member JL Gaspar in its lineup, AHOF’s set resonated strongly with local fans gathered at MOA to welcome 2026.
During the program, GMA Network also unveiled its slate of offerings for 2026.
As the clock struck midnight, the MOA Grand Fireworks Spectacle lit up the sky in a synchronized musical display.
