Ride-hailing and delivery platform Grab has been recognized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) as one of the recipients of its “Bayani sa Last-Mile” award, recognizing the company’s contribution to expanding digital services and livelihood opportunities across the Philippines.
The award was presented during the “Digital Bayanihan Awards: A Decade of Digital Transformation and Building the Future Together” on June 30 at the Bahay ng Alumni in Quezon City. The ceremony capped National ICT Month 2026 and coincided with DICT’s 10th anniversary under the theme, “Isang Dekadang Digital: Konektado sa Puso at Serbisyo.”
According to Grab, the recognition highlights the growing role of last-mile delivery in connecting consumers with goods and services, enabling small businesses to reach more customers, and providing flexible earning opportunities for delivery partners.
Grab was among private companies, government agencies, local government units, and other organizations recognized by DICT for supporting the country’s digital transformation over the past decade.
The company also said the award reflects its continuing support for the Marcos administration’s digitalization and livelihood agenda. Grab noted that it has achieved 73% of its commitment to create 500,000 livelihood opportunities for Filipinos over five years.
Among its initiatives is Grab Asenso: A Digital Diskarte Program, a public-private partnership that helps micro, small, and medium enterprises adopt digital tools. Endorsed by DICT and partner local governments, the program offers training on digital marketing, financial planning, artificial intelligence applications, and the use of the GrabMerchant app to help businesses expand their online presence.
Grab said it will continue working with government and private sector partners to strengthen digital inclusion, support entrepreneurship, and improve access to technology-enabled services nationwide.
