The best getaways aren’t always the ones you plan weeks in advance. Our Holy Week trip came together at the last minute, but thanks to the Ford Everest Titanium+ 4×2, it felt effortless from start to finish—comfortable, relaxing, and just the right kind of adventure.

From the moment we left home, the Everest made its presence felt—not with flash, but with comfort. The ride quality is easily one of its best traits (as with every Ford we’ve tested before). Even with Holy Week traffic and the occasional rough road, it glided smoothly over every bump.

The suspension struck that sweet spot—firm enough to stay steady, soft enough to stay comfortable. It doesn’t dive forward when braking and keeps body roll to a minimum through winding roads. Even as the drive turned twisty heading toward Taal, it stayed composed and comfortable enough that our passengers in the back quietly nodded off.

The Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) proved its worth on the expressway. Adaptive Cruise Control took care of the tedious stop-and-go pace, while Lane Keeping System helped keep us steady without the usual steering fatigue.

The 360-degree camera and Blind Spot Monitor are lifesavers. The Everest is big, tall, and wide—great for visibility and space, but not always for parking. That’s where the 360-camera earns its keep, making tight spaces and narrow driveways surprisingly easy to navigate. The high ground clearance and tall step-in can take some getting used to, though it’s a small trade-off for that commanding view and off-road confidence.

Inside, space is generous for everyone—even those in the third row. With the seats folded, we easily fit a couple of weekend bags, a full-size wheelchair, a big bag of snacks, and swimming gear, with plenty of room left for the pasalubong we picked up on the way home.

The tech setup feels modern but not intimidating. The 12-inch vertical touchscreen makes using Waze a breeze, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto keep everything connected. There are some functions, however, that live deep in the interface, and we wouldn’t mind having a couple more tactile buttons for quick access.

Power-wise, the 2.0L bi-turbo engine packs 207hp and 500Nm of torque—plenty for long drives and overtaking.

At P2,279,000, the Ford Everest Titanium+ 4×2 sits firmly in premium SUV territory, but it’s easy to see what you’re paying for: a refined ride, intelligent safety systems, and the confidence that comes from being well taken care of on the road.

Our unplanned Holy Week getaway reminded us that not all great trips need perfect plans. With the Ford Everest Titanium+, the journey felt calm, comfortable, and just the right amount of adventure. It’s the kind of SUV that makes even spur-of-the-moment escapes feel well thought out.
