The Department of Trade and Industry has joined forces with the Converge SME Business Group to boost support for Filipino MSMEs. The partnership focuses on providing the digital tools, technical know-how, and strong connectivity needed to stay competitive in an AI-driven economy.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), DTI and Converge will establish the DTI AI and Start-up Center at the DTI building in Makati. The center will showcase advanced technologies and AI-powered tools designed to help entrepreneurs enhance their operations, explore digital solutions, and stay competitive in a rapidly evolving business landscape.
Open to aspiring MSMEs, the center aims to make digital transformation more accessible. With fast, reliable, and affordable fiber connectivity, small businesses can streamline processes, build their online presence, and tap wider markets.
MSMEs make up 99.5% of all businesses in the Philippines and play a crucial role in job creation and economic growth. Through the partnership, Converge will support the sector with capacity-building programs, digital onboarding assistance, and access to its suite of connectivity and productivity services.
The initiative is aligned with Converge’s push for inclusive digital infrastructure across the country, reaching both urban and underserved areas. By combining resources and expertise, DTI and Converge aim to build a future where every MSME—from neighborhood shops to growing enterprises—can thrive in the digital age.
