BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, has deployed 20 BYD Sealion 5 DM-i units to the Highland Transport Service Cooperative (HTSC), marking the launch of the country’s first taxi fleet powered by the plug-in hybrid SUV.

Together with its dealer partner, SEAelectric, this initiative aims to bring cleaner and more efficient transport services to commuters in La Trinidad and across the Cordillera region.

The BYD Sealion 5 DM-i is equipped with the brand’s Super DM-i technology, which combines electric and fuel power to deliver improved efficiency, extended driving range, and lower fuel consumption. The vehicle is designed to handle the diverse road conditions and terrain commonly found across Northern Luzon.

For commuters, the new fleet promises a quieter, more comfortable, and environmentally friendly travel experience. Drivers, meanwhile, stand to benefit from reduced operating costs and improved efficiency during daily operations.

The deployment also supports HTSC’s ongoing fleet modernization efforts aimed at enhancing transport services in the region.

According to BYD Cars Philippines, the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to expanding sustainable mobility solutions while making cleaner, smarter, and more accessible transportation available to more Filipinos.
