Looking for an interesting way to teach your kids about biodiversity? Then head to The Mind Museum this May for the Biodiversity Crisis Escape Room (BCER), a traveling, experiential, immersive space that aims to educate participants on the biodiversity crisis we’re facing.
Co-presented by Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc. (BAFI) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), BCER will open at The Mind Museum on May 22 and will travel to other host venues later on:
- Harbor Point, Subic – June15
- Robinsons Mall, Puerto Princesa – June 29
- Abreeza Mall, Davao – July 27
Inside BCER, participants will randomly pick roles and enter three connected rooms. Each room presents challenges related to understanding the “Mga Sukat ng Kalikasan” (measures/values of nature) to escape the biodiversity crisis. Participants must understand what needs to be done and work together to be able to escape.
The experience is designed to mimic real-life conversations and actions needed for decision-making about our natural heritage, which we all share in terms of not just benefits buy also responsibilities.
Tickets cost P150 per person. BCER will be held at the Canopy Plaza in The Mind Museum on the following dates: May 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26.
Meanwhile, BAFI and USAID are launching a two-part biodiversity special of MIND S-COOL TV. This TV version of BCER will feature main questers and non-human “players” who help address the biodiversity crisis. They—including life-sized puppets representing flora, fauna, habitats, and abiotic elements—will experience being trapped in the rooms.
