In recognition of the sacrifices made by Overseas Filipinos (OFs) for their families and country, BDO and SM have joined forces to launch Kabayan Tuesday, an exclusive discount program for OF families.
Every first Tuesday of the month throughout 2024, OF families can enjoy up to 10% off at participating SM affiliates nationwide. These include SM Store, SM Appliance, Watsons, Miniso, Toy Kingdom, Surplus, Baby Company, Sports Central, ACE Hardware, SM Cinema, SM Game Park, SM Bowling, and SM Skating.
The program launch was celebrated via a mall show with BDO ambassador Piolo Pascual held on June 4 at SM City Caloocan.
Halfway through the event, Piolo surprised the son and sister of Japan-based Filipino worker Maritess Magtabog, dedicating songs and treating them to a shopping spree at SM stores participating in Kabayan Tuesday.
The gesture acknowledged the Magtabog family’s loyalty as BDO Kabayan Savings account holders for over two decades. Through Maritess’ hard work abroad for 22 years, the family has even been able to buy a house in Caloocan through BDO.
