Apple has taken the wraps off the upgraded versions of its 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air laptops, now equipped with the latest M3 chip.

According to Apple, these laptops are up to 60% faster than the M1 MacBook Air and boast up to 18 hours of battery life.

Apple launched the M3 chip in October 2023, initially for its iMac desktop computer and subsequently launching more powerful versions tailored for its MacBook Pro laptops.

The M3 chip introduces enhanced graphics, supporting up to two external displays, up to 24GB of unified memory, and up to 2x faster networking with Wi-Fi 6E.

The new MacBook Air comes with either a 13.6- or 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display with up to 500 nits of brightness, support for 1 billion colors, and up to 2x the resolution of comparable PC laptops. They also now have dual-monitor support, accommodating one external display at up to 6K resolution at 60Hz and an additional display at up to 5K resolution at 60Hz when the lid is closed.

The M3 chip incorporates a neural engine for AI capabilities. Image enhancement with AI using Photomator’s Super Resolution is up to 40% faster than the 13-inch M1 model and up to 15x faster for users without Apple silicon. The M3 chip also supports cloud-based AI solutions, enabling users to run powerful apps that tap into the power of AI, like Microsoft Copilot, Canva, and Adobe Firefly.

Both models are available in four colors: Silver, Starlight, Space Gray, and Midnight.

Prices for the 13-inch start at P69,990. The 15-inch, on the other hand, starts at P82,990.
