From February 13 to 15, the skies over New Clark City in Tarlac will come alive as the 26th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta lifts off with three days of color, energy, and sky-high thrills.

One of the biggest editions in the event’s history, this year’s fiesta will feature a record-breaking lineup of 22 new special-shaped balloons, with pilots flying in from the United Kingdom, United States, Belgium, Netherlands, Macedonia, Switzerland, Germany, and Brazil.

Each day concludes with two crowd favorites: the iconic hot air balloon night glow and a spectacular 500-drone show illuminating the New Clark City skyline with vibrant formations and messages.

By day, the skies come alive with world-class action, including Federation Aéronautique Internationale (FAI)-sanctioned paragliding and First-Person View (FPV) drone racing competitions, drawing participants from at least six countries across Asia and the Middle East.

Adding to the excitement is the fast-rising Soccer Drone competition, complete with a demo court for visitors and long-term hopes of hosting a future world championship. Aviation schools Far Eastern Air Transport Incorporated (FEATI) University and Philippine Air Transport and Training Services College of Aeronautics (PATTS College of Aeronautics) are forming their respective teams, with winners set to represent the Philippines internationally.

A Paper Plane competition open to all ages, RC airplane demos, kite shows, and aerial dogfights ensure nonstop action through the day.

Filipino inventor Kyxz Mendiola will also showcase his homebuilt manned flying drone, offering a glimpse into the future of personal air travel. Meanwhile, ultralights will do their usual formation flying around the fiesta grounds. On the ground, guests can enjoy car drifting, shop at the Fly Market, and savor Pampanga’s celebrated cuisine.

With the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) stepping in as a strong supporter, these efforts are expected to boost Aero Sports and draw more non-traditional tourism into the country. The PSC has begun supporting paragliding and paramotor athletes for the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, and these same paramotors will be showcasing their skills during the event.
