Living with diabetes means learning, adjusting, and staying mindful—but no one has to do it alone. Last November 15, as the world marked the 34th World Diabetes Day, Watsons Philippines continued its push for more accessible and caring diabetes support by launching its #KahitAnongTYPEmo campaign.
Watsons gathered patients, caregivers, and advocates at Watsons SM North EDSA The Grand for a day dedicated to education, support, and community building. The #KahitAnongTYPEmo event created a safe space for Filipinos to openly talk about diabetes, learn more about its management, and take small but meaningful steps toward healthier living.
Guests received free medical services, including doctor consultations, blood glucose checks, obesity screenings, and chronic kidney disease screening.
Expert speakers from Diabetes Philippines Inc. also provided valuable insights on prevention and long-term management—information that many Filipinos may not always have easy access to.
“Watsons believes that awareness and early detection are key to better diabetes care. Through #KahitAnongTYPEmo, we aim to provide a safe, supportive space where Filipinos can learn, ask questions, and take proactive steps toward better health,” said Joweeh B. Liao, Director of the Health Business Unit, Finance, Property, and Store Development of Watsons Philippines.

Strengthening this mission further is Watsons’ partnership with Diabetes Philippines, alongside brands and healthcare leaders committed to diabetes care — including AstraZeneca, Watsons Generics, Novo Nordisk, Abbott Philippines, MedChoice, Stada, Diabetasol, Interphil Laboratories, Zuellig Pharma, and Roche Philippines.
To further support patients, Watsons partnered with Diabetes Philippines for a Diabetes Educator Training Program for Watsons pharmacists, helping them serve not just as dispensers of medicine, but as trusted partners in health.
According to the International Diabetes Federation, about 4.7 million Filipino adults are living with diabetes, and this number continues to rise. By investing in health education and accessible services, Watsons aims to make care not only available but also understandable and empowering for every Filipino.
