The Travel Alliance, a consortium of seven leading telecommunication companies in Asia Pacific, has announced strategic partnerships with ride-hailing and travel giants Grab and Trip.com.

The collaboration aims to offer Alliance customers significant savings on accommodations, flights, rides, and food deliveries during their travels. Promotions will be rolled out progressively starting January 1, 2025.

The Travel Alliance includes Singtel, AIS, Globe, HKT, Optus, Taiwan Mobile, and Telkomsel. It was launched in February 2024 with the aim to launch the first-of-its-kind cross-border rewards program to enable its almost 300 million customers to enjoy incentives on transport, dining, merchandise, and lifestyle services when they travel to the markets where the operators are based.

As part of the program, Trip.com will provide customers with discounts of 10% on hotel bookings and 6% on flights. Additionally, eligible customers will receive an instant upgrade to Trip.com’s Diamond membership, granting access to perks like VIP airport lounges and premium airport transfer services.

Meanwhile, Grab will offer exclusive deals for Alliance customers, including the upcoming Grab Tourist Pack, which features savings on rides and meals. The Tourist Pack, launching in early 2025, will be available via Alliance telcos’ apps, starting with Singtel.
