Max Verstappen is used to fighting his way through a Formula 1 grid—but 100 opponents at once is a whole different challenge. The four-time F1 World Champion will take on a massive field in Max vs 100, streaming live on Disney+ Philippines at 12am on September 17.

Created with Red Bull, the first-of-its-kind motorsport event will bring 101 karts to the grid at Silverstone, one of racing’s most iconic circuits. Verstappen will start at the back and attempt to overtake all 100 competitors, recreating the format that shaped his early karting career.

The challengers will come from across sports and entertainment, including Red Bull athletes, gaming talents, streamers, content creators, media personalities and fans from around the world.

Among those joining Verstappen are ultrarunner Arda Saatçi, basketball shooting specialist Chris “Lethal Shooter” Matthews, freestyle mountain biker Matt Jones, and streamers TheGrefg, Caedrel, and TheDonato.

For Verstappen, the event also marks a return to his roots in karting, where he developed the racing instincts that helped shape his Formula 1 career.

“In go-karts you learn all the basics: starts, defending, overtaking. Of course, I spent a long period of my life go-karting, so it’s always nice to return. It’s about understanding the grip of the go-kart. I’ve done so many years in go-karting that you quite naturally get back into things,” he said.

The purpose-built circuit will allow 101 karts to race simultaneously, while game-inspired graphics, live race data, and cinematic drone footage will bring viewers closer to the action. Verstappen will also be able to communicate directly with competitors during the race.

Triple BAFTA-winning British comedian Mo Gilligan will lead the live broadcast, joined by a presenting team providing race analysis and commentary throughout the challenge.
