Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially launched the all-new Land Cruiser FJ, expanding its iconic Land Cruiser lineup with a compact SUV that blends the nameplate’s renowned off-road capability with the comfort and practicality of everyday driving.
Long regarded as one of Toyota’s most durable and dependable nameplates, the Land Cruiser has built a loyal following among motorists who need a vehicle capable of handling both urban roads and challenging terrain. The new Land Cruiser FJ brings that heritage into a more accessible package, offering a smaller footprint while retaining the rugged characteristics that have defined the lineup for generations.
Inspired by classic Land Cruiser models, the SUV features a bold, upright design with short overhangs, a wide stance, and 245mm of ground clearance. Practical elements such as a side-opening rear cargo door, rear-mounted spare tire, and squared-off body panels reinforce its adventure-ready character while providing ample opportunities for customization.
Inside, the cabin is designed with functionality in mind, featuring durable materials, intuitive controls, and modern infotainment systems suited for daily commuting as well as weekend escapes.
Power comes from a 2.7-liter 2TR-FE gasoline engine producing 166hp and 245Nm, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel-drive system. Built on a ladder-frame chassis with double-wishbone front suspension and a four-link rear setup, the SUV also comes standard with Active Traction Control (A-TRC) to enhance stability on varying road conditions.
TMP offers the Land Cruiser FJ in two variants: the TX and the more premium VX. The TX serves as a capable entry-level model with 17-inch steel wheels, LED lighting, a 9-inch infotainment display, and a functional, driver-focused interior.
The VX, on the other hand, adds 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, side steps, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, power-adjustable driver’s seat, Panoramic View Monitor, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes advanced driver-assistance features such as pre-collision system, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert, and automatic high beam.
