Timex, a pioneer in the watchmaking industry, is commemorating its 170th anniversary with a series of exciting initiatives.

As part of its anniversary celebration, the brand is paying homage to its rich history by re-releasing its iconic $1 watch, a limited-edition timepiece that will be available for just P50 on November 16, exclusively at the Timex Shop at Level 2 Main Mall, SM Mall of Asia. Only 100 customers will have the chance to own this piece of history.

Reviving a legacy of accessible timekeeping, this release honors the heritage of simply great watchmaking since 1854, tracing back to their roots as the Waterbury Clock Company. It commemorates Timex’s iconic Yankee pocket watch—their first timepiece sold at $1 and known as “the watch that made the dollar famous.”

Timex also held an event dubbed “A Journey in Time,” which showcased the brand’s legacy of craftsmanship and innovation. The event highlighted key milestones, from the early days of the Waterbury Clock Company to the modern-day Timex.

The brand also recognized its loyal customers by honoring the top 10 winners of the “Oldest Timex Watch” contest.

“This watch has been with me for decades—through milestones, moments, and memories. It’s more than just a timepiece; it’s part of my life’s story,” shared Nico Vinuya, the grand prize winner for his 1920 Ingersoll Waterbury Pocket Watch of the oldest Timex watch.
