TechLife recently added a new member to its tablet family, and it’s going big—literally. With a larger display and promises of a more immersive experience, the TechLife Pad Plus 12″ sets its sights on standing out in the crowded Android space. Can it hold its own?
What’s in the new Pad?
Running Android 15 out of the box, the Pad Plus 12” is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G91 processor, paired with an Arm Mali-G52 MC2 GPU to handle your day-to-day grind. It also comes with 8GB of RAM, expandable up to 16GB via RAM expansion. With this hardware setup, the tablet should be capable of smooth multitasking, faster app launch times, and improved handling of demanding apps.
If you download lots of apps or prefer storing files directly on your device, the Pad Plus 12” won’t let you down with its 256GB of onboard storage. Need more space? You can easily expand it up to 1TB via the microSD card slot on the hybrid SIM tray. The tablet also supports up to 2TB of OTG storage, so you can transfer files seamlessly between the device and compatible USB-C storage drives—and vice versa.

The large 12-inch 2K display—arguably the device’s crowning glory—supports up to 2160p resolution (depending on the video being streamed) and delivers an immersive viewing experience. With a brightness output of up to 400 nits, it remains sufficiently visible outdoors—so long as you’re not under harsh daylight conditions.
Another standout feature of this device is its massive 8000mAh battery, which provides more than enough power for all-day use. It supports 18W fast charging as well as 5W reverse charging, allowing the tablet to serve as a backup power source when needed.
Pros and cons
We received the TechLife Pad Plus 12” unit in Moonlight Silver, which looks classy with its matte finish—no more worries about smudges. It’s also available in Storm Grey and Sky Blue variants.
The Pad Plus 12” is a pleasure to use. Despite its size, it doesn’t feel unwieldy, even when held with one hand. Its evenly distributed weight makes it feel balanced in both portrait and landscape modes. The solid build is a definite plus, and the slim profile—just 7.6mm thick—adds to its premium feel. We noticed no creaking or flexing in the frame.

From reading and photo browsing to video playback and gaming, the 1,200 x 2,000 FHD+ display delivers sharp visuals and vibrant colors across the board. The 60Hz refresh rate may not be the fastest, but we found it more than adequate for everyday use.
That said, a few features leave room for improvement.
The quad stereo speakers deliver clear and loud audio, even at higher volumes, though the sound can feel a bit flat or lacking in impact, depending on what you’re listening to.
The 8MP selfie and 13MP main cameras deliver acceptable results when lighting is good. That said, photos from the main shooter sometimes show softness at the edges and noticeable color fringing. Given that this tablet isn’t built for photography, it’s understandable—but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Another downside is the 18W charging. It takes up to three hours to fully recharge the massive battery using the included charger.
And since the device lacks an IP rating, it’s best to keep it away from moisture and harsh elements.
Potential for productivity
While the Pad Plus 12” offers plenty of entertainment, it’s also a capable productivity tool.
For a seamless experience during this review, we paired the tablet with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The split-screen and sidebar features significantly eased research and writing. A notable advantage was that even with two windows open simultaneously, the screen never felt cramped. Furthermore, the landscape-oriented selfie camera is now ideally positioned for video conferencing, eliminating awkward angles during calls.

This tablet also features dual SIM support. However, it’s important to note that one slot on the SIM tray is shared between the SIM and microSD card, so consider your priorities accordingly. Standard call and SMS messaging work as expected.
Who is it for and what it’s not
For all the fun that can be had with the Pad Plus 12”, it does have its limitations.
This is not a gaming tablet. Its processing power struggles with demanding AAA titles, as demonstrated by our testing with the graphics-intensive action RPG Solo Leveling: Arise. While playing on max settings, an in-game message asked us to “choose the appropriate graphics quality.” Unfortunately, switching to the lowest settings offered minimal improvement; the gameplay remained sluggish, and the reduced visuals were even more noticeable on the large display.

But, if you’re in the market for a device you’ll use mainly for media consumption, then this can be a good option. With the right accessories, this tablet can even serve as a workable secondary device for productivity and complement your existing devices.
Speed says
Despite some limitations, the TechLife Pad Plus 12” excels as a multimedia consumption powerhouse, thanks to its massive screen and equally impressive battery. Beyond entertainment, it also shows good potential as a productivity device. Just manage your expectations, particularly with demanding tasks.
The TechLife Pad Plus 12” is now available for just P9,999 at TechLife Concept Stores and on its official Shopee and TikTok stores.
