Smart Communications has been named by network intelligence firm Ookla as having the Best Mobile Video Experience in the Philippines for the second consecutive year, based on its analysis of Speedtest Intelligence data from the first half of 2026.
Smart posted a Video Score of 72.82, the highest among mobile operators in the country.
For everyday users, the recognition is about how well the network performs when watching videos on a phone. Ookla’s measurement looks at key parts of the streaming experience, including how quickly a video starts, whether it plays without interruptions or buffering, and whether users can watch in Full HD resolution.
According to Ookla, Smart customers were more likely to experience video start times of under two seconds, uninterrupted playback, and 1080p or higher resolution during most of their video sessions.
That could mean smoother viewing whether you’re watching TikTok videos, livestreams, your favorite series on the commute, or live sports while away from home.
“Video has become an essential part of everyday digital life for Filipinos, and our customers expect their mobile network to perform consistently wherever they go. This latest recognition from Ookla affirms that our network investments are translating into meaningful improvements in customer experience, and I encourage everyone to see the difference by streaming with Smart,” said Lloyd R. Manaloto, first vice president and officer-in-charge for Smart.
Smart continues to invest in network optimization and 5G expansion as demand for data-intensive services grows. As of end-June 2026, Smart had 12.5 million 5G-capable devices on its network, up 30% from a year earlier and accounting for 21% of individual devices on the network.
