Millions of everyday card purchases could help support tree-planting efforts under a new partnership between Metrobank and Mastercard that allows credit cardholders to convert rewards points into environmental contributions.
Through the initiative, Metrobank Mastercard credit cardholders can redeem every 8,000 rewards points to support the planting of four trees under Mastercard’s Priceless Planet Coalition. The campaign runs from June 30 to December 30, 2026, with redemptions available through the Metrobank App and via SMS.
The Priceless Planet Coalition is a global initiative that brings together consumers, financial institutions and organizations to support forest restoration projects. It works with non-profit organizations Conservation International and World Resources Institute, which provide science-based guidance on the selection of restoration sites, implementation of projects and long-term monitoring of their environmental impact.
“This partnership lets everyday spending do something more meaningful. It’s our way of helping customers not just manage their finances, but also support causes that matter, making impact part of daily life,” said Gail Male, Head of Metrobank Credit Cards, Personal Loans and Digital Channels Group.
“We are happy to partner with Metrobank and enable their clients to make a positive impact on the environment. Together with Metrobank, we are turning everyday purchases into opportunities to support reforestation and create lasting impact,” said Jason Crasto, Mastercard Country Manager.
Cardholders can participate by using their Metrobank Mastercard credit cards for daily transactions to accumulate rewards points before redeeming them through the Metrobank App.
