Filipino commuters can now have themselves “delivered” home via Lalamove as the on-demand delivery service has officially entered the ride-hailing industry in the Philippines.

Lalamove Ride currently offers sedans, SUVs, and MPVs that can accommodate groups of four to six passengers.

The company plans to onboard 15,000 drivers in the Greater Manila Area, Pampanga, and Cebu by June this year.

Lalamove Philippines Managing Director Djon Nacario stated the company aims to build a large driver pool to meet commuter demand. To attract drivers, Lalamove is offering a competitive two percent commission rate, allowing drivers to keep 98 percent of their earnings on top of Panalomove driver benefits.

Interested applicants can sign up by providing necessary documents, including a Certificate of Public Convenience or Provisional Authority from the LTFRB, a professional driver’s license, NBI/barangay/police clearance, passenger accident insurance, and vehicle photos.

Drivers who are the second or third owners of their vehicle will need to provide the Deed of Sale, while drivers who are borrowing the car to be used for ride-hailing purposes have to submit a Letter of Authorization from the vehicle owner.

According to Nacario, onboarded Lalamove Ride partner drivers can take both delivery orders and ride bookings—but not at the same time. “For example, they can maximize their earnings through ride bookings during peak hours, and take delivery orders during non-peak hours. And like with delivery, our partner drivers have the liberty to choose the orders they want, aligned with our goal of democratizing on-demand delivery, and this time, even ride-hailing,” Nacario added.

The Lalamove app has been updated with new features for ride-hailing, including real-time GPS tracking, a 24/7 in-app chat function, driver and passenger accident insurance provided by Chubb, an SOS emergency button, and automatic application of the 20 percent government-mandated discounts for students, PWDs, and senior citizens.
