Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has launched the sixth-generation Honda Prelude, a hybrid coupe designed with what the brand calls the “Unlimited Glide” concept. This design aims to give a comfortable experience for the driver while giving an enjoyable time behind the wheel. The car’s low height, light proportions, increased visibility, and balanced handling result in what Honda says is a ride that’s both comfortable and engaging for everyday use.

Large 19-inch aluminum wheels and distinctive blue Brembo brake calipers add a performance-inspired touch, while a sleek hatchback design introduces added practicality—something not always associated with coupes. Despite its athletic profile, the car offers flexibility for everyday use, including a cargo area that expands from 264 to 760 liters, which is enough to fit items such as golf bags, surfboards, or large suitcases.

Inside, the Prelude takes a unique approach with an asymmetrical seating layout. The driver’s seat is designed for a more focused, sporty feel, while the passenger seat prioritizes comfort. A D-shaped steering wheel with Alcantara trim enhances grip, and a floating 10.2-inch digital instrument panel improves visibility while adding a modern, minimalist look. The cabin experience is further elevated by an 8-speaker Bose sound system.

The Prelude is powered by a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle engine paired with Honda’s e:HEV full hybrid system. It produces 139hp and 182 Nm of torque, with a fuel efficiency rating of 25.6 km/LGe based on DOE certification. Suspension components derived from the Honda Civic Type R contribute to sharper handling, while refinements help maintain ride comfort.

Drivers can tailor the experience through four selectable modes—Comfort, GT, Sport, and Individual—adjusting the car’s responsiveness to suit different driving conditions. A new feature, Honda S+ Shift, enhances the driving feel by synchronizing engine sound, visual feedback, and performance response, offering a more engaging experience often associated with traditional gasoline-powered sports cars.

The Prelude also introduces practical innovations such as Coasting Control, which allows the vehicle to glide to a stop more efficiently to help improve fuel economy.

On the safety and connectivity front, the model comes equipped with Honda SENSING, a comprehensive set of driver-assist features including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and collision mitigation systems. It also comes with Honda CONNECT for remote access and monitoring, along with built-in Google services for hands-free navigation and commands.

To give buyers added peace of mind, HCPI is bundling the Honda Prelude with an Extended Warranty Program. Owners get up to five years or 150,000 kilometers of vehicle coverage, plus a battery warranty of up to eight years or 160,000 kilometers—whichever comes first.

The Prelude comes in one variant, the 2.0 e:HEV E-CVT, and is offered in five colors: Moonlit White Pearl, Rallye Red, Racing Blue Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl. Choosing Moonlit White Pearl adds P30,000.

The car is now on sale with a suggested retail price of P3,498,000.
