Grab Philippines welcomes the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s (LTFRB) recent announcement to introduce 10,000 new Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) slots, a move that signifies a pivotal step toward a more inclusive and robust transportation sector.

The addition of new TNVS slots highlights the sector’s role as a key economic driver. This expansion aims to harness technology and mobility to drive broader economic growth, create jobs, and encourage innovation.

Renowned industry expert Dr. Thomas G. Aquino, a transport economics specialist and Senior Fellow at the University of Asia & Pacific – Center for Research and Communications, supports this perspective.

“The contribution of growth-inducing digital platforms [like ride-hailing] to downstream and upstream productive sectors as well as households, is definitely positive and can be expected to grow,” he said.

In line with its commitment to creating inclusive livelihood opportunities, Grab Philippines implements a vigorous Women Program to increase the number of female drivers in its fleet

The new TNVS slots also present an opportunity for Grab to support more women in joining the ride-hailing workforce, particularly those seeking flexible working arrangements. The leading superapp aims to double the number of its current women driver fleet by end of 2024.

Grab also remains committed to serving the Filipino people. Its vision goes beyond transportation, aiming to create an integrated ecosystem supporting various aspects of Filipino life. By strengthening the TNVS industry, Grab enhances urban mobility and contributes to a more connected and economically vibrant Philippines.
