Electric taxi and ride-hailing drivers on the Grab platform can now charge their vehicles at discounted rates after Grab Philippines partnered with EV charging operators ACMobility and EVOxCharge to expand charging access nationwide.

Under the agreements, GrabTaxi Electric and GrabCar Electric operators and driver-partners can access more than 600 charging points at preferential rates, reducing charging costs by as much as 45%, according to Grab. The initiative aims to address two of the biggest challenges facing electric vehicle adoption: the availability of charging stations and the cost of charging.

Grab said the lower charging rates are expected to improve the economics of operating electric vehicles on its platform. Based on data from EV drivers and operators, the company said EVs can operate at roughly 75% to 87% lower cost per kilometer than a typical internal-combustion vehicle.

“Sustainability can no longer be treated as just a green movement. For us, it has become a kabuhayan commitment,” said Grab Financial Group Philippines Country Head CJ Lacsican.

“Through these partnerships, we are building the support system needed for more drivers to confidently consider electrification—not only as a cleaner transport choice, but as a livelihood resilience strategy amid the volatile fuel market,” Lacsican added.

As part of the partnership, ACMobility will provide access to its ChargeFleet platform, integrated into the Evro app, allowing drivers to locate charging stations, manage charging credits and simplify fleet operations. ACMobility has a nationwide network of over 500 EV charge points in strategic locations, including fuel stations, malls, hotels, retail shops, and office and residential buildings.

EVOxCharge will offer similar fleet management capabilities through its xCharge+ platform alongside access to its growing network of over 130 charge points, anchored by its flagship hub at the TDG InHub in Taguig, alongside strategic retail locations at SM and S&R.

GrabTaxi Electric and GrabCar Electric operators and driver-partners can access the discounted charging rates by registering with Grab using the email address linked to their Evro or xCharge+ account.
