GAC’s newest EV, the AION UT, is a compact hatchback engineered for daily city driving while still delivering the space and features commonly associated with larger vehicles.
With its mix of efficiency, modern styling, and practicality, the AION UT is designed to fit seamlessly into urban lifestyles.
Despite being classified as a 5-seater compact hatchback, the AION UT focuses heavily on cabin space. The EV features a class-leading 2,750mm wheelbase and 905mm of rear legroom, allowing three adults to sit comfortably at the back. The interior also includes 24 storage compartments and a flexible 440-liter cargo area that expands further when the rear seats are folded.
The AION UT is also loaded with safety and driver-assistance features aimed at daily commuting. These include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, a 360-degree surround view camera system, large 2.1-meter V-shape side curtain airbags, and drive-off assist or reverse mis-acceleration mitigation system.
Powering the AION UT Elite variant is a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 134hp and 145Nm of torque. It uses GAC’s 47.1kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) “Magazine Battery” technology, with DC fast charging capable of topping up the battery from 30% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
Inside, drivers get an 8.88-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Other features include 16-inch alloy wheels, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, and a high-strength steel body structure.
The GAC AION UT Elite is priced at P1,068,000 with an introductory P50,000 discount until June 30. An additional P20,000 discount is available for the first 400 units sold. Buyers can choose from Champs-Elysees Beige, Emerald Green, Rococo White, Seine Silver, or a two-tone Rococo White + Emerald Green finish.
It comes with an 8-year/160,000km comprehensive warranty, as well as an 8-year/200,000km warranty for the core three-electric system. All new owners also receive two years of free roadside assistance.
