Samsung Philippines has partnered with Cordillera Mountain Ultra (CMU) as the event’s official watch partner, featuring the Galaxy Watch Ultra2.
Under the “Trail with Galaxy” initiative, the partnership aims to encourage more Filipinos to explore trail running through community sessions, outdoor experiences, and technology designed to support runners on challenging terrain.
“Our goal is to bring more people outdoors. For the last two decades, that has been our advocacy and main driver of our work,” said JP Alipio, CMU organizer. He added that the partnership allows the event to expand this advocacy while using technology to support outdoor exploration and adventure.
Designed for demanding outdoor activities, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 features dual-frequency GPS, Trail Run Mode, and GPX route guidance to help runners navigate trails and monitor performance metrics such as pace, elevation, and climbing progress.
The smartwatch also comes with a titanium body, IP69K and 10ATM ratings, and a display with up to 5,000 nits of brightness. Its 800mAh battery is designed for extended adventures, while its Nutrition Alert feature provides hydration guidance based on estimated sweat loss.
For Samsung, the partnership offers an opportunity to demonstrate how wearable technology can support runners before, during, and after their outdoor pursuits.
“Technology is most meaningful when people can see how it supports the moments and pursuits that matter to them,” said Jun Guevara, director and head of corporate marketing at Samsung Electronics Philippines.
The partnership extends beyond race day. Samsung and CMU also plan to hold community sessions and trail experiences where participants can learn from experienced runners, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and explore Galaxy technology outdoors.
The Cordillera Mountain Ultra, happening on December 13, 2026 in Benguet, is part of the 2026 Philippine Mountain Games. Registration for CMU is open until November 30. Interested runners can visit the official registration website for race details and registration information.
