CMF, Nothing’s sub-brand for stylish yet affordable phones, has unveiled its first device: the CMF Phone 1. This device deviates from the established smartphone template with its modular design.

What does that exactly mean? Well, like ye olde Nokias from the aughts, the CMF Phone 1 has a swappable cover, except unlike the swappable faceplates of your 5110s and 3310s, this one has a back panel that comes off. The panel can be easily removed with an included tool—plus there’s an accessory system that allows you to attach items like a lanyard, card case, or kickstand. Those are sold separately, by the way, as are the colorful replacement back panels.

The CMF Phone 1 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage (expandable via microSD).

It sports a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 2,000 nits peak brightness. There’s a 16MP selfie camera behind a punch hole and a fingerprint scanner under the display.

Around the back, are a 50MP f/1.8 main shooter and a depth sensor.

Keeping the lights on is a 5000mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging and 5W reverse wired charging.

The CMF Phone 1 runs Nothing OS 2.6 based on Android 14. It will get two years of major Android updates and three years of security updates.

It’s also IP52-rated, which means limited dust ingress and tilted drip water protection.

The CMF Phone 1 has a starting price of P17,490 at Digital Walker. Stay tuned on Digital Waker’s Facebook page for pre-order updates.
