Amazon is giving its Kindle lineup a major makeover ahead of the e-reader’s 20th anniversary, with new designs, colors, aluminum finishes, and a new Colorsoft model.
The refreshed lineup includes the 6-inch Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Colorsoft, with each model getting Amazon’s new flush-front display design. The redesigned construction removes the raised border around the screen, creating a more seamless reading surface while helping make the devices thinner and more portable.
The entry-level 6-inch Kindle is now Amazon’s most pocket-friendly Kindle yet. It comes with 16GB of storage, up to six weeks of battery life, and book-opening speeds that are 30% faster than the previous generation. It starts at $149.99 and is available in Ube and Graphite.

For a more premium finish, the 6-inch Kindle is also available with an aluminum back, 32GB of storage, and a matte finish. The aluminum version in Alpine Sky and Seaglass Green starts at $189.99.
Meanwhile, the new Kindle Paperwhite is thinner and lighter than its predecessor while retaining features aimed at longer reading sessions, including waterproofing, adjustable warm light, and up to 12 weeks of battery life.

It starts at $199.99 with 16GB of storage, while the 32GB Signature Edition costs $249.99 and adds an aluminum rear housing, auto-adjusting front light, wireless dock charging, and double-tap page turning.
The biggest addition is the new Kindle Colorsoft, which brings color to Kindle’s paper-like display. It is designed for reading colorful book covers, comics, graphic novels, and other illustrated content without the glare of a typical tablet.

The 16GB Colorsoft starts at $289.99, while the 32GB Signature Edition costs $319.99 and adds an aluminum housing, auto-adjusting front light, dock charging, and double-tap page turning.
