The VinFast VF 3 has emerged as the Philippines’ best-selling battery electric vehicle (BEV) from January to August 2026, recording 2,906 units sold, according to a report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI).
Dubbed the “Tiny Titan,” the compact electric vehicle has gained traction among Filipino motorists, particularly first-time EV buyers looking for a practical option for everyday driving. Demand has also benefited from rising fuel costs and global energy uncertainty, which have encouraged motorists to consider alternatives to conventional gasoline-powered vehicles.
VinFast attributes part of the VF 3’s market performance to its ownership support programs. The Battery Subscription Policy reduces the initial cost of vehicle ownership, while the Residual Value Guarantee Program is intended to mitigate concerns about depreciation.
The company also offers free charging until March 31, 2029, alongside an expanding charging network in the Philippines. Together, these initiatives aim to address common concerns among prospective EV buyers, including initial purchase costs, charging access, and long-term ownership expenses.
“We are deeply grateful and incredibly proud of the warm reception that VF 3 received in the Philippines. Achieving the number one spot is a milestone that demonstrates Filipino drivers’ readiness to embrace electric mobility when backed by an ecosystem that supports their entire journey,” Antonio “Toti” Zara III, CEO of VinFast Philippines, said. “The incredible reception of the VF 3 proves that eliminating traditional barriers through our comprehensive Ownership System makes going electric a seamless, practical choice.”
“But the Tiny Titan leading the charts is only the beginning of our mission in the country, as we vow to continuously expand and evolve this ecosystem to ensure sustainable EV ownership remains accessible, effortless, and dependable for every Filipino motorist,” he added.
VinFast said it plans to continue expanding its vehicle lineup, dealership network, charging infrastructure, and aftersales support as it works to make EV ownership more convenient for Filipino consumers.
