Urban Label by Maria & Co has teamed up with Epson Philippines Corporation (EPC) to debut a textile collection that honors Filipino heritage while embracing next-generation printing technology.
The collaboration, made possible through the support of ES Print Media, Inc., connected Epson with designer Beatriz Nicole Benadera to bring this culturally rooted collection to life.
The star of the collection is the Waling-Waling, known as the Queen of Philippine Flowers. With its bold colors and delicate structure, the Waling-Waling has inspired Filipino artists for generations. Here, it takes center stage on pieces that mix time-honored motifs with a fresh, modern twist.

Benadera drew inspiration from Filipino identity across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, using fabric itself as the storytelling medium. Instead of heavy embellishments, she let textile prints, color, and thoughtful placement define each silhouette. The result is a series of flowing pieces where the Waling-Waling blooms boldly across every fold and panel.
Turning these ideas into reality is Epson’s SureColor SC-F9430H digital textile printer. The technology allowed original photographic references of the Waling-Waling to bloom across fabric in crisp, vibrant prints. Large panels came out in single outputs, keeping every delicate detail intact and ensuring smooth, uninterrupted designs on flowing pieces.

More than technical excellence and visual appeal, the partnership embodies a mindful approach to design. By enabling on-demand digital printing, the process helps cut excess materials and empowers designers with greater creative control—an approach perfectly aligned with today’s eco-conscious fashion movement.
“Working with Epson completely changed my creative process,” said Benadera. “It allowed textile design to become part of each garment and shifted my approach from designing around limitations to designing with confidence.”
For Epson, this partnership reflects how trusted technology can bridge tradition and modernity. “Epson has decades of experience in precision printing,” said Masako Kusama, Director and President of EPC. “Our solutions help designers execute ideas with clarity while supporting mindful production.”
