The vivo Y73 is the most premium Y-series phone that the brand has released to date. It actually looks like the “lite” sibling of the vivo V21e launched last year. Their rear camera layout is identical, and even the patterns on the back panel are similar—both for the Roman Black version with its subtle vertical lines and the Diamond Flare with its a mosaic-like diamond pattern that changes colors depending on how light hits it.

The Y73 sports a huge 6.44-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution, a U-shaped notch in the top-middle of the screen that houses the selfie camera, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. There’s also a pre-installed screen protector for an extra layer of protection.

Thanks to the AMOLED panel, colors are vibrant and blacks are deep, making the phone an awesome device for content consumption. Brightness, sharpness, and outdoor visibility are also good. Alas, the screen has a 60Hz refresh rate, which feels like a downgrade from more affordable phones that offer at least 90Hz.

The back panel is made out of plastic and has an anti-glare glass coating on top that repels fingerprints. At 7.38mm thin, this phone is easy to grip and slip into the tightest of pockets. It weighs only 170 grams, which makes it light enough to hold with one hand.

The slightly protruding camera module houses the 64MP main shooter, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro lens. There’s also a rear flashlight right below the cameras.

The Y73 features a Super Night Mode for capturing moments even in low-lit settings. Meanwhile, its electronic image stabilization with dual view mode makes for clear, steady shots.

Check out some of our shots with the Y73’s rear cameras:

On the right edge of the phone are the power button and volume rocker, while on the left is a triple card slot for two nano-SIM cards and a dedicated microSD card slot.

Sitting alone on top is a secondary microphone, while at the bottom are the USB Type-C port, microphone, speaker grille, and 3.5mm headphone port.

The vivo Y73 box comes with the unit itself, a 33W wall charger, SIM ejector tool, USB Type-C cable, clear case, earphones, and documentation.

Watch for our review of the vivo Y73 in the coming days. Meanwhile, you can already cop this phone for P14,999 on Lazada and Shopee.
