TikTok Shop highlighted the growing impact of discovery-led commerce on digital retail in the Philippines as it gathered more than 850 brands, sellers, creators, and ecosystem partners at Summit Pilipinas 2026.

Centered on the theme “Scaling Businesses to New Heights,” the summit highlighted how short-form video, LIVE commerce, and creator-led content are changing the way Filipinos discover and purchase products online. Instead of searching for items directly, consumers are now more likely to come across products organically through videos, livestreams, and recommendations from creators they follow and trust.

“We are seeing a clear shift in e-commerce behavior, where entertainment drives discovery, community drives trust, and creators drive consideration,” said Franco Aligaen, marketing lead at TikTok Shop. “TikTok Shop sits at the heart of this transformation, as it transitions users from inspiration to discovery to purchase in one seamless experience through shoppable content and community videos.”

TikTok Shop Mall continues to help brands grow through curated storefronts and platform tools designed to bridge content discovery and conversion. Complementing this is the OnTrend program, which offers insights into emerging trends, top-performing keywords, and category behavior, as well as creator collaboration opportunities that help brands engage audiences more effectively.

In a separate TikTok Shop Brand Forum, representatives from Mars Wrigley Philippines, HONOR PH, and Procter & Gamble Philippines discussed how creator content has helped make shopping experiences feel more authentic and engaging for consumers.

“What makes TikTok Shop distinct is how discovery and conversion happen within the same experience. We’ve seen consumers engage with products in ways that feel more organic, interactive, and community-driven. Shoppertainment has helped us achieve our sales targets, and more importantly, allowed us to participate in conversations and moments that are already relevant to consumers,” said Patricia Co, head of e-Commerce, Mars Wrigley Philippines.

Summit Pilipinas also emphasized the growing role of MSMEs in digital commerce. Through programs such as Unlad Lokal, TikTok Shop said it has trained over 25,000 MSMEs nationwide in short-form video production, LIVE selling, affiliate marketing, and platform tools.

“For many MSMEs, digital commerce can feel difficult to navigate at the beginning, especially when resources are limited and competition is high,” said Brad Veleña, co-founder and chief operating officer of Dermorepubliq.

“What helped Dermorepubliq grow on TikTok Shop was the ability to connect with customers through content in a more direct and authentic way, while also learning how to adapt quickly to what audiences respond to in real time,” he added.

The upcoming 6.6 Bonggang Birthday Sale serves as TikTok Shop’s midyear growth engine for brands, as the platform offers exciting deals for buyers. Taking place from June 1 to 6, the campaign is part of TikTok Shop’s continued dedication to maximizing opportunities for sellers, especially MSMEs.
