Technology and culture came together at TCL’s “Heritage in Every Frame” event at Centro de Turismo Intramuros Manila. The gathering showcased how the global home electronics leader continues to blend innovation with the Filipino way of life.
At the center of the celebration was the new TCL A400 Series QD-MiniLED TV, designed to function as both a premium entertainment display and a statement piece for the home. Launched in time for the country’s 128th Independence Day, the event highlighted the meeting of heritage and innovation, featuring digitally animated works of the “Grand Old Man of Philippine Art” Fernando Amorsolo displayed on the TCL A400 Series.
“The TCL A400 Series represents our vision of what home entertainment can become, not simply a device for viewing content, but a centerpiece that enhances the living space even when not in use,” said TCL CEO Peter Chen.
The event highlighted the advanced capabilities of the TCL A400M and A400 Pro TVs, demonstrating how modern display technology can elevate artistic experiences. Using the ultra-crisp displays of the A400 Series, TCL transformed a curated collection of Fernando Amorsolo’s iconic works into immersive digital presentations.
Among the featured masterpieces are Carabao Riding in Sunset, Noonday Meal, Tinikling, and Dalagang Bukid—works that celebrate Filipino rural life, tradition, and identity. The exhibition also included The Blind Man and Fruit Market, offering poignant glimpses into everyday life and human experience. Completing the collection was Bataan, one of Amorsolo’s most significant wartime paintings, reflecting the resilience and sacrifice of the Filipino people.
Rendered through the advanced technology of the TCL A400 Series, these iconic artworks are brought to life with remarkable color accuracy, clarity, and detail.
Bringing a contemporary dimension to the exhibition, digital animator Mark Cañega reimagined the artworks using modern animation techniques that preserved the spirit of the originals while enhancing their visual impact.
TCL also demonstrated its commitment to community engagement through donations of televisions and air conditioning units to several institutions within Intramuros, including the Centro de Turismo Intramuros, the Intramuros Information Center, the iMAKE History Fortress LEGO Education Center, and the Fr. Luis G. Merino, O.S.A. Library.
