Samsung has announced its next generation of foldable flagships—the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6—at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris.
Both phones leverage the power of Galaxy AI by offering unique mobile experiences with features like the large screen of the Galaxy Z Fold and the FlexWindow of the Galaxy Z Flip.
The latest foldables boast the slimmest and lightest Galaxy Z series design yet, featuring a premium, symmetrical design with a straight edge. The dual rail hinge structure is fortified by a strengthened folding edge for improved impact resistance. Enhanced layers on the main screen minimize the crease while maintaining durability. For even better protection, these devices are equipped with enhanced Armor Aluminum and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy paired with 12GB RAM and various storage options.
Galaxy Z Fold6
The Galaxy Z Fold6 offers AI-powered features to boost productivity. Note Assist helps with translation, summaries, and auto-formatting for note-taking, while a newly embedded transcript feature enables not just transcription but also translation and summarizing of voice recordings directly in Notes.
PDF Overlay Translation translates text within PDFs, images, and graphs, while Composer suggests text for emails and social media. The Sketch to Image feature, on the other hand, allows you to create more sophisticated art pieces using the S Pen by generating image options when you simply sketch or draw on the photos in Gallery or Note screen.
Google Gemini is also fully integrated on the new Galaxy Z series to help with writing, learning, and planning.
Accessibility features include Interpreter, which comes with a new conversation mode and Live Translate, which works with third-party calling apps.
The Fold6’s camera includes an AI-powered ProVisual Engine for capturing, editing, and viewing content. Photo Assist helps create professional photos, Portrait Studio offers creative portrait styles, and Instant Slow-mo provides smooth slow-motion videos.
The Z Fold6 is equipped with a 6.3-inch HD+ AMOLED outer screen that opens to reveal a 7.6-inch QXGA+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Other features include a 4400mAh battery, 25W wired charging, wireless fast charging, 10MP front camera, a 4MP under-display front camera, and a rear triple camera with a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP telephoto.
Galaxy Z Flip6
The Galaxy Z Flip6, on the other hand, is not just optimized for portability, but also offers a range of new customization and creativity features.
The 3.4-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow enables AI-powered functions without you needing to open the phone. These include Suggested Replies, which analyze your messages to propose tailored responses, Samsung Health, music controls, and multiple widgets.
There’s also an AI-powered Photo Ambient feature that dynamically adjusts your wallpaper based on time and weather.
FlexCam continues to offer a versatile camera experience and now comes with new creative options. With the new Auto Zoom, FlexCam automatically finds the best framing for your shot by detecting the subject and zooming in and out before making any necessary adjustments. Editing photos is made effortless with Galaxy AI.
The clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip6 features a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen and a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED main display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
The phone has a 4000mAh battery, 25W wired charging, wireless fast charging, a 10MP front camera, and a rear dual camera with a 50MP wide-angle main and 12MP ultrawide.
