realme officially announced at its 2024 media preview event in Las Vegas that the realme 12 Pro Series will feature a top-notch periscope telephoto lens.

Event attendees got a firsthand look at the upcoming realme 12 Pro Series as the brand showcased its advanced periscope telephoto technology and luxury watch design.

The series will use the Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS for the primary camera with a 24mm equivalent focal length. The periscope camera will use the OV64B sensor.

According to realme, the periscope camera in the realme 12 Pro Series is identical to the one in the flagship GT5 Pro. Additionally, the lineup will feature a 3x Portrait Mode with a 71mm focal length, and the telephoto unit allows for up to 120x digital zoom.

The series will also include an ultrawide camera, which, when combined with the periscope telephoto unit, enables “lossless zoom at 0.6x, 1x, 2x, 3x, and 6x, delivering a complete focal-length lossless zoom photography experience comparable to flagship devices.”

realme collaborated with Qualcomm to develop an exclusive customization of the MasterShot Algorithm. This allows the processing of RAW domains, providing excellent dynamic range and realism, especially in cinematic portraits. The NightEye Engine enhances night photography, and the LightFusion Engine improves clarity and tone. The Series also allows effortless capture of striking portraits with its unique movie portrait filter.

To give the series a luxurious feel, realme worked with international luxury watch design master Ollivier Savéo.

Savéo redesigned the phone’s camera module to look like a watch dial, featuring a light cone texture and gradient UV texture that reveals over 500 sunburnt patterns. The phone also gets premium vegan leather, a 3D Jubilee Bracelet that creates a metallic strap texture, and a golden fluted bezel crafted using CNC machine cutting.
