Homegrown motorcycle taxi company MOVE IT strengthens its focus on rider safety by renewing partnerships with the Honda Safety Driving Center and the Philippine Red Cross.
The renewed partnerships intensify MOVE IT’s skills assessment, capacity-building, and emergency response programs.
“Safety remains a cornerstone of our operations. We are committed to constantly enhancing and advancing our programs, aiming to cultivate a fleet of rider-partners who are not only equipped with essential safety skills but also foster a safety-first mindset,” shared MOVE IT General Manager Wayne Jacinto.
In partnership with Honda, the MOVE IT team underwent intensive training in three core courses: motorcycle skills certification, safety riding, and basic motorcycle troubleshooting.
After completing the certification program, the same team evaluates new rider-partners before they move to the next onboarding phase, which is the mandatory Driver Guidelines Orientation and Training based on Honda’s safety guidelines.
Additionally, the team takes courses on driving analysis, motorcycle dynamics, and practical skills like handling and traffic rules.
MOVE IT and Honda Safety Driving Center co-developed road safety courses for the MOVE IT Academy app, which is accessible to all riders.

To enhance safety and response measures, MOVE IT partnered with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) for advanced training for its Emergency Response Unit (ERU). The ERU includes volunteer rider leaders and MOVE IT team members.
The training covers emergency preparedness topics such as Emergency Action Principles, Basic First Aid, Environmental Emergencies, and Special Situations. After completing the workshops, ERU members are evaluated before being deployed as emergency responders.
The ERU handles road incidents reported via the MOVE IT Hotline, the in-app Safety Center, or the Emergency SOS Button. They assess situations, provide on-site support, and communicate with riders, passengers, and their families.
The ERU also administers basic first aid as needed, deferring to professional medics for more serious medical attention.
