MG Philippines recently launched two new electric vehicles catering to the increasing demand for eco-friendly and practical electric mobility options among Filipino drivers.
One of these is the MG Marvel R, which is equipped with a 137kW electric motor and 70kWh battery good for 184hp and 255Nm. MG claims the car has an average range of 402km, as well as a charging time of 43 minutes (from 5% to 80%) via Type 2 DC charger
The electric SUV’s polished exterior features striking LED daytime running lights, headlights, and taillights, and flowing body lines from tip to tail. It rides on 19-inch wheels shod with 235/45 tires.
Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a near-silent cabin thanks to top-notch soundproofing; Nappa leather seats with both heating and ventilating functions; soft touch materials for the dashboard and door panels; an intelligent and adaptive air conditioning system; premium sound from an 8-speaker system; and customizable ambient lighting with 64 colors that syncs with your tunes.
The main focal point of the interior is the humongous 19.4-inch Gorilla Glass-protected touchscreen display, where you can control all the car’s major functionalities. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as voice commands for activating basic functions such as operating the A/C, sun roof, windows, radio, and more. There’s also a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a wireless smartphone charging pad.
As for safety, the Marvel R’s list of passive and active safety systems include blind spot detection, lane keeping assist, tire pressure monitoring, intelligent speed alert, pedestrian warning system, traction control, hill hold control, cornering brake control, and autonomous emergency braking, to name a few.
The MG Marvel R EV SUV is available locally as a single variant—the Marvel R Alpha—with an SRP of P2,588,888. It is complemented by an 8-year/160,000km EV battery warranty, and a 5-year/100,000km vehicle warranty.
