Maya is reminding customers to make use of its in-app security tools, which give users more control over account access and everyday transactions.

The digital financial services platform has continued to expand its security features since introducing Security Center late last year. Available through the Profile or Services sections of the app, Security Center brings together account controls and security assistance in one place.

Customers with upgraded Maya accounts can enroll their devices as trusted phones. Once enrolled, they can use Face ID or a fingerprint instead of an SMS one-time password to approve Send Money transactions, subject to Maya’s security checks.

Under Account Security, users can view or remove trusted phones and check Login History for previous account access. They can also update their registered mobile number, password, and email address directly through the app.

Maya Black and Landers Cashback Everywhere credit cardholders can use Freeze My Cards to temporarily freeze their credit cards, while Transfer Limits lets customers manage InstaPay transfer limits from Maya Wallet to other banks and Insta-fill transfers from Maya Savings to Maya Wallet.

These controls complement Maya’s broader security measures, including AI-supported fraud monitoring. Maya Philippines and Maya Bank have also maintained ISO 27001 certifications for information security management since 2022 and ISO 27701 certifications for privacy information management since 2023.

Maya also runs Maya ScamPatrol, which provides guidance on spotting scams and practicing safer digital habits. The company works with agencies including the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, Department of Justice, and Philippine National Police, including support for CICC’s Scam Safe initiative.

Together, these measures are designed to give customers more control over their accounts while strengthening Maya’s broader efforts to prevent fraud and protect financial information.
