Mapúa University has officially entered a game-changing partnership with global gaming giant Capcom Singapore and industry linkage expert Prime Manpower, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on January 26 at the Mapúa University Intramuros campus.
The collaboration marks an exciting step forward for industry-aligned education and positions the Philippines as a serious player in the fast-growing gaming, digital content, and intellectual property (IP) sectors across ASEAN.
The agreement reflects a new way of thinking about digital creatives education in the country. By bringing together academic rigor and real-world game publishing experience, Mapúa is closing the gap between classroom learning and the demands of the global gaming industry.
A key initiative to the partnership is the planned launch of a program focused in Games, Intellectual Property, and Digital Culture. Designed to meet the rising demand for globally competitive talent, the program will blend creative and technical training with strong foundations in IP development, management, and commercialization.
The detailed structure of the program—including curriculum design, special lectures, and learning modules—will be developed in consultation with Capcom and industry experts, ensuring alignment with international standards and emerging industry practices.
Implementation will roll out in phases, beginning with industry-led lectures and progressing to curriculum integration and microcredential offerings via MapúaX.
With Prime Manpower opening direct internship and career pathways, the partnership ensures that learning translates into real opportunities on a truly global stage.
